In order to expand the business, Mr. Siyam formed Sun Investments Pvt.
Ltd. in 1997. The objective was to develop and manage resorts and hotels
in the Maldives. In the same year, Sun Investment was awarded the leasehold
rights of the island of Meedhuffushi in Dhaalu Atoll. The island was developed
into a luxury 4-star resort and was officially opened in October 1998.

Reef
The island of Meeduffushi Vilu Reef Resort is exceptionally beautiful
with tall palm trees surrounded by clear white sandy beaches and engulfed
by a magnificent blue lagoon.
Vilu Reef is located in Dhaalu Atoll (South Nilandhe) and transfer to the island is by a 45 minute flight from Male' International Airport. The resort is designed to reflect local tradition and architecture with 68 round thatched Deluxe Beach Villas, decorated and designed luxuriously with modern facilities. All rooms are air conditioned and supplied with hot and cold freshwater, mini bar and IDD telephone.
As for divers, there are several unexplored underwater gardens in this Atoll and a visit to any of these would be an experience of a lifetime!
Sports and recreation
is a big part of today's lifestyle. Water sports facilities in the resort
include windsurfing, catamaran sailing, canoeing, water-skiing, ringo
riding and jet skiing. Other sports facilities include badminton, aerobics,
tennis and beach volley. Also, fishing and island excursions are organized
on a regular basis.

By going on a dive safari or a sailing safari holiday, one is able to explore the Maldives completely. Sailing through the atolls of Maldives is an experience on its own.
Sun Travel, as part of its new vision for the new millennium, is maximizing the efforts to specialize in this service. With our two vessels in operation now, our extensive network and relation with other safari and yacht managers, we can arrange holidays for smaller and bigger groups as well, with diving flotilla. Most of the yachts have air conditioning and other modern facilities, a dive instructor on board as well as all the safety equipment. The capacity can range from 8 to 24 persons.
