Lhaviyani Atoll - Faadhippolhu
Lhaviyani Atoll also has been newly opened for tourism with four new islands slated as resorts. Up to the end of 1998 only one resort has operated in the atoll. A smaller atoll, in comparison with the other atolls, however, with about 50 islands some large and with dense vegetation.

At 'Kuredu Express' in the Fehigili Pass you can explore numerous grottos, carpeted with lilac and pale blue alcyonarians or you could watch the grey reef sharks, tunas or eagle rays and entire families of humphead wrasse, looking out into the blue depths. The 'Boatyard' offers a totally different type of excitement; two wrecks, covered with alcyonarians and inhabited by batfish, emperors, and millions of glassfish - an underwater photographer's dream.

With only five inhabited islands you have an unbelievable choice of uninhabited islands at which you could snorkel in totally privacy at the house reefs or sunbathe on their deserted beaches.
