Well,
you want to get away from it all. But having used to life in the fast
lane, you couldn't help wonder what you can do on a small island. The
truth is, when you get to your small island in paradise any concerns about
what there is to do disappear into the clear blue waters around you. Magically,
you feel free! You no longer yearn for something to do.
Resort brochures mention
endless sports facilities and excursions they offer. And rightly so! Prospective
holidaymakers often check out to see the availability of all this before
they select their island. In addition, you would certainly pack a fair
amount of reading materials, so that there will be something to do. Surprisingly
when you get there you'll notice that the flood
lit tennis court is mostly vacant, excursions get cancelled because not
enough people sign in and you would surely look at the bag of books that
you have packed but haven't found the time to read. In the first couple
of days you'll obviously try out the facilities. However, chances are
that you'll realise that it is more worth your while to spend the day
under a palm tree at the beach simply looking out into the blue horizon
- the evenings in the bar, out on the open-air-deck under the stars, making
new friends or spending the best time you've had together with your partner.
Every
resort offers a variety of excursions and a selection of evening entertainment.
The excursion could be a daylong trip or a half-day trip out to fishing
villages, resorts and uninhabited desert islands. In the evenings there
is a weekly disco, the popularity of which often depends on the composition
of guests on the island at the time. Fishing enthusiasts could take part
in some enjoyable fishing expeditions; big game fishing, trolling or night
fishing, which is a relatively relaxing option. Snorkelling is quite popular
in all the resorts. It is easily accessible, relaxing, and need no prior
training to enjoy.
